enveloop is a series of envelopes designed to kindle an ephemeral sensation within the receiver as he/she slides the letter out of the envelope in anticipation. Motifs from both sides of the translucent envelope would superimpose and seemingly create a transitory animation as the letter it contains is removed.
Extending the life of the envelope
The life of enveloop is extended as it transformed into wind chime after it is being unsealed. This envelope-turned-wind chime hence transformed itself from a functional role of a cover for the letter into something that reminds the receiver of the sender’s sincerity.
Selected motifs
Different motifs combinations were designed for different occasions. The first envelope features a confetti pattern that superimposes into a lit candle. The second would enact the clinking of champagne glasses while the
third top a star onto a Christmas tree. Lastly, the fourth envelope unites scattered petals into roses.
4 different envelope for 4 different occasions.
Why redesign the envelope?
An envelope is the first object that a receiver sees and touches.
While it’s primary function is to protect the letter it contains, an envelope could be designed such that it is included to enhance the user experience of receiving a letter.

Ideation
Prototyping and user testing
Iterations of prototype where the size, pattern and inking techniques were explored and tested out.
User testings were also conducted.
